I'm not certain the manufacturer or the eBay seller I bought this from know how cool this little device is as a patch between your laptop computer and your audio system ....

Maybe everyone else on the planet is way ahead of me on this, but it wasn't until I got Vista on my laptop that I started using Media Player as a library for my CD music collection. Rip the CD, delete the tracks you don't care for, and suddenly your music collection gets way more enjoyable to listen to. The only problem is, those laptop speakers suck, and it kind of defeats the laptop paradigm when you have to plug wires into it ... Such as a patch cord from the headphone jack to your entertainment center.

So I spotted this gizmo on eBay, bought it, hooked it to my AV receiver, and now my laptop sends tunes from Media Player to my big speakers via Bluetooth.

It's a terrific convenience ... The sound quality is very good ...

I had a whine in the audio stream ... My bluetooth transmitter was plugged into the USB socket next to the laptop power cord ... The current must have been inducing the whine ... It went away when I plugged the transmitter into the other side of the computer ...

If you get distortion, you're over-driving it ... Open the mixer ( click on the speaker icon on the taskbar ) and turn down the slider for the bluetooth audio device ...

Not in the manual:
The device takes about a minute to boot up ... The LED does NOT come on right away ... You might think it's broken ... It's not ...

Installation was a snap .. Vista found audio drivers on Windows Update and everything worked right from the start ...

When Vista first links to the device, it may ask you for a passcode ... Just key in 0000 and it'll work fine.
