There are several sellers with a product claiming so it seems that they are selling Schumacher 1/6th scale nitro cars made in England. This is just not the case, they are the usual Chinese junk and trading on Schumacher's great name. A quick check of the Schumacher website reveals no such car or scale. This thing being passed off as a Schumacher claims that it is interchangeable with several major brands as far as parts and besides maybe wheels and tires this just is not so. Once again the purveyors of this junk are just out to make a quick buck trading on a known and good name with a poor quality car and no parts or service support.
The things to watch out for in these ads is they never mention an engine name you have ever heard of, they are half price of what the least expensive car of the real line is whether it be Traxxas or Schumacher or whoever they are trading ons name this week, they never actually come out and say they are made by the company in question or show you any packaging that has the company name on it, they are always obscure and vague. If you write and tell them they will tell you some lie about all cars are made in China these days and these are just non-branded, but the same thing. I assure you they are not.
The sad thing is the new guy or girl to RC hasn't a clue as to the truth and buys one of these hoping to save some money, but the hours of frustration and the inability to get parts and get or keep these junkers running is discouraging. It is bad for the sport and bad for beginners. I have been collecting and racing Schumacher cars and others for years and selling the real thing. Our shop bought another T-Maxx copy and tested it and found it not only did not exchange parts as claimed but was a total disappointment as far as a vehicle goes, we now use it to show potential customers why cheaper is rarely better.
Buy a bran named product and you will be happier in the short and long run, besides a brand name holds its value better than a non-branded car and it supports a company in a free country, it is time for us as consumers to consider the other ramifications to buying the least expensive merchandise especially when it breaks or falls apart or is even dangerous.
Schumacher's website is racing-cars.com, pick either the US or UK site and see if any of the terms in these ads are there, I have and they are not. Sorry!
