Scent layering has been a source of much discussion and, dare I say it, a bit of an obsession. Layering scents allow you to personalize and create your very own fragrances. I usually start in the shower with a shower gel, then apply a lotion or cream, and finally layer on a dry oil spray or body spray. To refresh your fragrance, carry a perfume roll-on with you and dab on during the day as needed. I've also found that this gives you a nice, subtle scent, not the overpowering, clear the room, open the windows fast, oh no I'm choking, olfactory experience we've all encountered.
The fun part is choosing which scents to layer, you can match florals or bakery scents or choose wildly different fragrances, such as Fudge Brownies and Pink Sweets. And if you don't like it? Just wash it off and start over.
Some examples:
1. Toasted Marshmallow lotion, Pink Sweets spray, Birthday Cake roll on
2. Vanilla Cream Frosting spray, Blackberry Cookies roll on
3. Baby Powder shower gel, Baby Face lotion, Angelic Wings spray
My personal favorite is to start with a vanilla or marshmallow scent base. That way, if I go floral, fruit or bakery, depending on my mood, they will always layer nicely on top of the vanilla or marshmallow. Another nice base scent is any cake or cupcake scent, which will work as a great floral, fruit or bakery scent base.
The only limit is your imagination!
