Fake DVDs on eBay is a problem that you may not even know about, but it is very serious. Any DVD that is a dvd-9, or is just box art and disk but no case these are usually fake. If you ask the seller a question about if the item is an official studio release, and hear no reply, this is a red flag that the item could be fake. If the seller has private feedback or if you have to email the seller to be able to bid on the item, these are both red flags.
How to protect yourself from bootleg sellers:
1. Do not buy from a seller unless they state in writing that the product is factory original.
2. Never go with a seller who has comments in their feedback with questions of items being fake.
3. Only buy from sellers who accepts Paypal payments, and who are Paypal business verified.
Go with sellers who provide answers to questions promptly, fraudulent sellers do not like to perform basic customer service as they know they do not need to keep their feedback in good standing as they will probably be kicked off eBay in a few weeks anyways.
