The 18-inch doll has taken over doll play in the market for girls aged 5-12.  Mothers and collectors got involved, too, because of the historic reproduction accessories and the stories written about the characters. 
   There are two camps when it comes to the correct scale for these dolls.  They are approximately 1/4 size and 9-year-old girls.  Now imagine with me the height of a table compared to an average 9-yr-old girl.  Imagine the size of food items in relation to that girl's hand.  Things with the same scale in relation to the doll's hand would be perfect scale for these dolls....BUT there are only so many items available on the market that fit that description exactly.
   One group likes a smaller scale, another group likes a larger scale.  That is why I put dimensions in my listing descriptions.  You just need to get out a ruler and imagine the size of the items as you look at them in my store, Lovvbugg, and my website, Lovvbugg.com. 
  Whenever possible, I will put the doll or the doll's hand in the photo of the item to give you a better idea of the size of the item.
  And remember, girls are not the sticklers for perfect scale that collectors are!
