(Author Of How To Win In A Claw Machine)

Today, Gasoline is one of today's pricey necessities. This is a guide for the common driver on how to save, conserve, and lengthen the amount of gas you have in your car; and shorten the numbers on the receipt you get back from filling up at the pump.

Choosing Which Gas Station:

Each company might sell the same product at different prices, but what their formula for gasoline is might differ between companies. For example, Shell and Mobil can be found in Formula 1 race cars. This means that Shell and Mobil are great choices for high performance cars; such as exotics, muscle cars, and trucks. Also, the formula might not be as high quality for your car; some gas formulas may leave residue in your engine, increasing the costs instead of decreasing. Lower tier fuels have a lower quality formula, and higher tier fuels are expensive, however have the best quality formula; see this graph for more information:

Fuel Tier:               Formula Quality:                  Price:

1. Low ------------------ Low --------------------- Low
2. Medium -------------Medium -----------------Balanced   ßBest Value
3. High -----------------High ---------------------Expensive

Overview:

1. Buy at brand name gasoline stations; Shell, Mobil, Circle K. An easy way to tell a gasoline station is a brand name gasoline station, is if it has "chains"; meaning, does it have more than one store in one location? If it does, it is a brand name, if it doesn't, it isn't.

2. Choose middle-tier fuels; lower priced tier fuels are cheaper, but have a lower quality formula that leaves residue in your engine. Higher-tier engine fuels are more expensive, and have the top quality formula, however if you continue to buy this type, there will be more costs and disadvantages. Buying middle-tier gasoline will have an equal balance of gasoline quality and price.

Additives:

Additives to gasoline are also a gas and money saver. They increase the functionality, the quality, and the amount of gasoline you use. Additives may sound difficult to get, however there are some formulas that are easy to get at your local grocery store. Some additives that are easily obtainable are listed below:

1.      PURE Acetone:

Pure Acetone is a common addition to gas that is known to increase mileage (5-15%), more power, more stable idle, cleaner emissions, and faster start up. However, too much acetone is known to decrease the mileage on your car. In order for this to work, the acetone must be PURE; it can be found at a local beauty parlor. However, there are some downsides to pure acetone:

Downsides To Pure Acetone:

1.      Acetone is a paint remover; keep it away from your car’s paint

2.      Acetone is a poisonous substance with dangerous vapors.

3.      Vietnam has banned acetone as an additive to gasoline.

4.      NOT COMPATIBLE with the Toyota Prius; it has a synthetic bladder lining the gas tank that may eat thru damaging it. DO NOT USE.

Please use this Pure Acetone Additive and any suggestions listed at your own risk.

Driving:

Driving is when the gas can really deplete itself. Many people like to hit the brakes a lot, and this only increases gas usage and prices; not gas “save-age”. Some tips are listed here to SAVE gas:

Saving Gas When You Drive Tips:

1.      Act as if there is no brake; give your car a enough gas so that you let it glide with its own momentum; especially when you are driving down hill. If you are driving up-hill, give it just enough gas to get up the hill; you do not have to get there quickly. (Please be safe, and use at your own risk)

2.      If at a red light, and it turns green, hit the accelerator slowly, and when you get across the street, you can pick the speed up. No matter how you “get out of the gate” when it turns green, you will always get back to cruising speed.

3.      Leaving your car idle costs MORE gas than turning it off then on when you need it; it also is more secure.

4.      Keep your tires inflated to your manufacturer’s recommendations. Even if you are a pound short of the recommended level that may mean a more expensive receipt next time you fill up.

5.      Carpool always works! Also saves environment.

6.      Buy a hybrid car. Helps environment and wallet.

7.      If you are driving at 50MPH or less, Drive with your windows down, And if you are driving 50+ roll up the windows and use the Air Conditioner; Windows down creates drag (with windows down, your car interior becomes a "ram air" parachute; the air comes in from all the down windows and ends up [collected] at the back of the car where it has no way to flow out) however Air Conditioning uses gasoline to cool the air; the faster you are going with your windows down, creates more drag, making the car heavier, making the engine work harder; drawing in more gasoline.

Hope this helped your gas saving routine! I’ll see you on the road! Drive safely!

NO DRINKING AND DRIVING! THAT IS THE ULTIMATE GAS SAVER!
