I have been selling on ebay and other online websites for a long time now. There are people that ship items in very bad packaging. If you decide on selling things on ebay and not to have people complain on how you package the items, here is a good way to save a ton of money on shipping supplies.

I have written a guide about how to ship/package certain items, this guide will tell you how to save money on supplies on bubble envelope.

Many people use bubble envelopes to ship items such as baseball cards, cds, dvds, memory, or any flat items that will fit a 8x11 envelope. You can buy these bubble envelopes from staples, office max, office depot or any stationary stores. The only problem is that the cost of these bubble envelopes will add up and your profit margin decreases. For example : say that you bought a 10pk of bubble envelope from officemax for $5.99.

That is about .60 per bubble envelope. If you charge $2 shipping on any item, it will cost you about $.99 on shipping if its 1oz or so. If you use paypal like me, 1oz with delivery confirmation comes out to about $1.40 or so. So charging $2 for shipping will practically break you even. But considering the cost for the end of auction fee, posting fee and paypal fee, hope that what you sell made you enough money to cover the expenses.

*I am not saying that you should increase your shipping charge, but to get shipping supplies in lower cost will help you increase your profit margin*

Okay, so now lets cut to the chase and give you the information you are looking for. This is what you need to do. Note: This will cost different at every location, so you must shop around and find the best deal.

We can use office depot as our example.

You can buy a pack of 100 9x12 Grip seal Catalog envelopes for $14.69

A box of Bubble Cushion Wrap roll 12"x75' for $25.49

Total price come out to $40.18 say about $43 including tax depending on where you live. That comes to about .40 per envelope. You save .20 on each item you sell just on supplies. You are thinking to yourself, is it worth it to save .20 to do some extra work? Well the answer is yes. If you do the math, 100 comes out to $20 and so on. This is a good way to make sure the item you are selling is protected because just putting the item in a bubble envelope will cause it to move around during shipping. When you use bubble wrap, it secures the item in once place so it doesnt get damaged.

I hope this helps you save some money on shipping. If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up.

~safe bidding and selling!
