I was watching 2 items on buy.com. 1) dance dance revolution game bundle for wii ($68.99); 2) a digital photo frame ($164).
Both are out of stock. So I signed up the email for #2 to get notification when it's available. I got the message yesterday and went to their website to place the order. The price was adjusted to $189. They have the option to allow you to order out of stock items at $164 but I didn't use it. So, if you really want something and it's out of stock (means it's popular and they will raise the price), order before it's in stock (but read the tip below first).
Now for #1 the game, I was going to place the order the day before yesterday when it's still out of stock (because the cheapest 'in stock' item online is $160). I added it to the shopping cart but when checking out, the computer froze on me so it didn't went through. Yesterday I again brought up the item to place the order. The item was IN STOCK and the price was $81!! Then I opened my shopping cart. The $68 game is still there . I placed the order as fast as I can.
So don't forget to add items to shopping cart and then subscribe for product available email. This way, you don't need to pre order but still get the pre-order price (as of 2/8/08. They may change it any minute).
