I have been in the middle of these way before they were put out to the public market and with all the kinds and brands out there Hughes/direcway is way up the ladder compared to the others. There is a new one in town called Wild Blue and it is a slower laid back system that has a long way to go until it hits the big time. Data Storm, Ground Control and I-Direct are all a part of the Hughes/Direcway Internet System. The system is used on Boats. RV's the far out places where you run things just off of batteries or solar units, houses and such. The only thing bad about the Satellite industry is the tech help you need from time to time. Hughes/Direcway along with Wild Blue have contracted their Technical help via overseas. Most of the time when you are frustrated and really need help and you call a 800 number you get someone on the other end that can only speak in a broken English that is very difficult to understand.

Now thanks to some people there are some that can write all there is to know about Satellite Internet and put this information on a CD, and now without going into a contract for years, you can buy a system for little or nothing on E Bay and learn about these internet systems, purchase a CD on E Bay and become a Installer of your own system. You can trouble shoot your own system and fix what ever need to be done. Also you can contact people out in the internet world and get your own account and  get your own satellite assigned.

You can take your system down, pack it and move to other locations like North, Central and South America and even Iraq and Afghanistan and install the system again. Yes things have really changed, I carry my Internet Satellite System in a compartment on my Travel Trailer and when I get to my camping area It only takes me about 15 minuets to get the internet up and running. Also I have a wireless router and many folks around me can get on my internet too. See you on the web
