Okay. They look the same. What are the differences?
The Sansa View has a slightly larger screen, (2.4" versus 1.8" screen).
The Sansa View has a higher maximum capacity (8, 16 & 32GB vs. 2, 4, 6 & 8GB).
The Sansa e200 series has a user replaceable battery. If the Sansa View battery stops taking a recharge then the user will have to send it in to Sandisk for a replacement at a substantial cost, (same as with ipod, Zen, Zune, etc.).
The Sandisk Sansa e200 series has higher customer ratings than the Sansa View. This is true for ebay and Amazon. There seems to be greater customer satisfaction with the Sansa e200 series which may mean less issues with the e200 series.
Both have FM radio, Micro SD card expansion, many media file types that can be directly loaded in without conversion, great sound and fantastic user interface. Good feel in hand, good size and positive feedback for navigation without looking. Music files can be transfered back and forth between the player and your PC without loss of quality or file conversion. Both display photos and play videos.
The user interface works the same but the BIOS, (or operating system program), may be different. The e200 series generally works flawlessly while the Sansa View has had some hang ups and can become unresponsive (just press and hold the POWER button for at least 5 seconds to force a shut down). Upgrades to the system BIOS may improve the performance if available but currently, (3/2008), the latest version, (01.02.09A), sucks up battery power so users have been reinstalling the older version, (01.01.06A), into their Sansa View. Check with the Sandisk Sansa website, (www.sandisk.com), for more info and the latest BIOS, (firmware), for your player.
