I have some experience with Samsung laser printers and it is not good. I have owned both a ML 1200 and an SCX-4216F. While in use, both printers were reliable and consistently produced good results. I would average about 100-500 pages per month, well below the recommended usage. Then disaster would strike. In the case of BOTH printers, a teeny tiny plastic piece broke rendering the printers absolutely useless. The repair bill in both cases would have been in excess of $100 - in my estimation, not worth the price.
The SCX-4216F broke recently. I went shopping on ebay for a replacement. My biggest concern was price point and I needed a multifunction printer and a history of reliability. I looked at Samsung just for grins (I wrote the company about the broken plastic pieces but have not received a reply to date), my search was narrowed to Canon and Brother. I own a Canon ink jet printer which is a fine performing machine and I would recommend it to anyone. My (outside of the home) office has 6 Brother laser printers and I am in charge of maintenance and repair there. These printers are subjected to extremely heavy use and although there have been minor issues from time to time, the performance and reliability have been impeccable.
So it came down to price point and I went with the Brother. Time will tell but I can say I am happy about my recent purchase and will not buy any Samsung printers in the future.
