Who knew that printed paper laminated onto acetate, formed over a wooden frame with brass colored hardware and shiny plastic bindings could blend into totally indestructable luggage? Say that  ten times fast...

It's Shwayder Brothers Samsonite Streamlite luggage and it's heavy as hades and near impossible to dent, ding or destroy. Your parents or grandparents certainly owned a piece, or two, or three, or more, as it was the industry leader from 1941 until the Shwayders got savy to the lightness of magnesium frames instead of wood in 1955.

The shipping cost will make you weep, but these bags usually clean up easily and are cool for storage, display or use.

Here is a chart I developed using items listed on Ebay showing the dimensions (sorted by longest, or width, first) and known model numbers and colors. The 4-digit model number of the piece is always ## (two-digit color number) ## (two digit type number). For example all Admiral Blue pieces begin with 47 and all Hat boxes end with 20.
