Salt Works- A Guide to Salt Works & Fashion
One way Salt Works distinguishes itself from sellers of fashionable jeans is by placing an emphasis on clean simplicity in style. A cleanly designed jean in this case means one that is not made overly gaudy by extreme back pocket stitching, excessive holes, or over-washing. As a result of their simple approach, the jeans produced by Salt Works have a classic look that is appropriate for many occasions without appearing dated.
Another design feature that distinguishes Salt Works jeans is that the creators seem to have truly attempted to listen to the customer and to respond with styles that reflect what actual buyers want. As a tribute to the brand's New York origins, each style is named after one of the city's streets (e.g., Mulberry Street).
As with many high-end jeans for women, part of the magic of the fit comes from the addition of Lycra to the basic cotton fabric. Lycra allows the fabric to hug the curves of a woman's body, ultimately making the jeans more flattering. Men's Jeans are available too. Jeans for both men and women come in low and medium rise styles in a range of washes and cuts. Cropped pants, skirts, and denim jackets for women are also available.
Although Salt Works jeans definitely qualify as fashion jeans, the creators themselves say they want the jeans to reflect style rather than fashion. Perhaps what they mean by that is fashion comes and goes while style endures.
