This is a guide for the 8 English language novelized chapter books of the original story Sailor Moon by Naoko Takeuchi. Released in 1999-2000 by Tokyopop/SMILE Books/Mixx Readz, these eight books contain story summary versions of the first 24 original Japanese episodes of Sailor Moon. So, one of the great things about these books is that they contain some of the first episodes that were not included or "skipped" by DiC in the English language series of Sailor Moon. So, listing the episodes gets a little confusing below, English episode numbers are given and then original Japanese episode numbers are in parentheses. Only the Japanese episode names are given for the stories that appear in the books about these episodes that weren't made for English audiences. Sorry if it gets confusing! ^.^;;
All English characters' and places' names are retained.
Sailor Moon's transformation and attack names are their in original Japanese form (ex, "Moon Prism Power Make-Up! and "Moon Tiara Action!" not "Moon Tiara Magic!")
It's obvious these books are undergoing changes throughout the 8 releases, which kind of bothered me. The 2 last books are the only ones that get it together with a long awaited table of contents. And the second book starts off with a new author writing along with book 1's author who then continues to write the remaining 5.
I've seen several listings on eBay calling these books manga, which probably confuses buyers, who in fact, are looking for the actual Sailor Moon manga. These are not manga! Manga are the black and white comics or graphic novels. These books do not contain illustrations other than the cover art.
Sailor Moon the Novel #1 A Scout is Born

Written by Stuart J. Levy
"You're the chosen one. Don't you see? It's your destiny!"
Between beauty sleep, boys, video games, and munching out, Serena barely had enough time to do her homework. So how could she be expected to become a Champion of Justice and fight against evil? What if she actually got hurt? Was this talking black cat serious?! Now this once-regular junior high school girl is in for the adventure of a lifetime. There's something weird going on in Crossroads and it's up to Serena, ahem, SAILOR MOON, to get the heart of the matter.

Written by Stuart J. Levy and Lianne Sentar
"You came between an innocent man and the woman he loves, and for that you must pay! I'm Sailor Moon, Champion of Justice, and on behalf of the moon, you're punished!"
For Sailor Moon, fighting evil is a matter of duty. But dieting and exercise?! That's just harsh! In her latest adventures, Serena joins a gym, fights evil, battles hypnotic pets, fights evil, saves the world, fights evil, and brings two star-crossed lovers together. And somehow, the junior-high student still finds time for a relaxing bubble bath. In other words, it's just another day in the life of the Champion of Justice.
