When Spring and Summer arrives, alot of friends and families
love to go 4 wheeling in the mountains in their 4X4 Jeeps,
4X4 Trucks, and 4 Wheeler All Terain Vehicles which makes
for a very FUN and EXCITING ADVENTURE FOR ALL!
When 4 Wheeling with your friends and family, there are a
few things that you should remember to do just in
case of emergencies, such as the following:
1. Carry a fully stocked safety kit in case someone gets hurt.
You can buy a safety kit or make your own kit with band aids,
guaze, guaze tape, rubbing alcohol, and other types of satey items.
2. Be sure to carry a good supply of all of your prescription
medications with you in a zip lock bag to keep moisture out and
if you have any medical conditions--make sure that you have this
written down anf saved in your wallet or purse. Also wearing a
safety bracelet or necklace with your health information on it
is an exceptional idea as well.
3. Make sure that you have a few flash lights handy just in
case that you break down.
4. Be sure to have some CB Radios or 2-Way Radios handy to be
able to communicate easily with others in other vehicles in
case the cell phones do not work.
5. Have a fully charged cell phone to use in case of a emergency.
6. Have an extra set of batteries for your cell phone, CB radios,
2 Way radios, and flash lights handy and readily available
in case of an emergency.
7. Have emergeny contact numbers saved on your cell phone
and written down.
8. Tell a family member or friend where you will be,
your cell phone number, hotel information, and when
you be home in case of an emergency.
9. Carry a small tool box with a pair of pliers, wrench,
jumping cables, flares, air pressure tool,
air compresser, couple cans of fix a flat,
and any other tools that you think you may
need in case of an emergency.
10. Make sure to have fully functional fog lights/fog lamps
installed in case the weather gets foggy or misty.

11. Consider having a spot light installed on your
vehicle or carry one in case of an emergency.

12. Always pack a change of clothes.
13. Be sure to have an ice cooler packed with easy to fix
food like bread, bottled water, and sandwhich meat.
14. Be sure to carry at least 1 week supply of non-parishable
foods (canned food) and extra bottled water in case of an emergency.
15. Be sure to bring your can opener, plastic plates,
napkins, and plastic utensils.
16. Wear helmets and other safety gear in case you are
riding a 4 wheeler all terrain vehicle. Wear your seatbelts in vehicles.
17. Have your 4x4 Vehicle fully checked by an expert
mechanic BEFORE you go on your trip to make sure that
the vehicle is safe and ready for your trip.
18. Always keep enough credit cards and debit cards
on hand in case of an emergency.
19. Keep a good supply of cash on hand just in case
of an emergency when there is no credit card or
ATM machine available to use.
