As an arcade service tech. I find that most times I recieve poorly packed circuit boards. I am writing this guide for the sellers and buyers of game boards and static sensitive devices ( IC's Roms and Ram).My belief is better to take precautions than to have returns or dissatisfied buyers. It doesn't cost much and just a little more time.

1. If the board has a battery use a static bag if you have one, not available then I suggest you wrap item in plain old newspaper first.

2. Next get a roll of cheap tinfoil and wrap the bag or paper in the foil making sure that it is totally wrapped. The reasoning here is that the post office distribution centers may X ray the package and sometimes static can be all around.

3. That takes care of the static so now let's help with the physical side of things. Bubble wrap is best for protection of the items but again newspaper will also do the trick. Wrap so that board or item fits the box that you are sending. Not to loose and not over stuffed as to crush it. I do not suggest that you use styrofoam packing because it causes STATIC....

4. Smaller items such as IC's Eproms Ram etc. use a protector if you have one or antistatic foam ( usually black in color ) then wrap in tinfoil...Please don't use styrofoam ever....Again wrap in newspaper or bubble wrap to fit the box...

It is that easy to send a protected package safely ...The above works on game boards, motherboards and any static sensitive electronics devices...Better safe than sorry....

Ok buyers.....When you recieve your package you open it at the door and walk across the room quickly to try your new parts and they just don't work...*&^%$%%$ seller sold me junk!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe not...this could be your fault....DON'T get in a hurry...Keep the package intact until you can safely open it at your work site.

A. Wear a wrist antistatic strap if you have one (best protection) if your in the guts of things you should use one and they are not that expensive..Radio shack should have them or find them on E-bay!!!!! Sellers this is a good item to offer. If you don't have one the next method will work but you have to be more careful. Always make sure what you are working on is unplugged!!!!!! Touch the unit or case to ground yourself out then with minimal movement open the package and unwrap the paper or the bubble wrap but leave the foil on.

B. Ground again on metal part of case or a good ground. Ok open the foil and or antistatic bag and install the device or board if you are wearing strap.Keep touching ground while opening foil if not.

C.  Connect all wires and connectors....Check twice too be sure everything is ok....Be sure that your power is correct before you start or you may be cussing later as you could kill a good board or part..

I hope this helps you sellers and buyers to enjoy E-bay more and have less returned items. As usual I must say that you can use this advice but I will not be held liable for any damage or injury due to this information.....Happy E-BAYING      2359larry
