We have selected the RHINOCEROS to write about and let you decide for yourself if this amazingly lifelike creature would surely fool friends, family and maybe even a super Safari sleuth!

To tell you a little bit about  a real " Rhinoceros; fondly known as a Rhino, these huge animals are a hoofed mammal found in Africa, India, and SE Asia and have a snout with one or two horns. The rhinoceros are also odd-toed hoofed mammals. The rhino has five living species, which at one time ranged across Africa and Asia, but now only a small population exists in protected or remote areas. All five species are listed as an endangered species with the exception of one, the White Rhinoceros.

The skin of the Rhinoceros is extremely thick, almost hairless and appears to be deeply folded in some species. The horns, which protrude from the skin are made of keratin, a fibrous substance. The legs are very strong, stout and short and end in full broad feet, each hoof or foot has only three toes.  According to the respective species, Rhinos are herbivorous which means they graze on plants.  Most live near water and like to wallow in mud; all Rhinoceroes swim extremely well.  They have very poor eyesight but have great hearing and a good sense of smell.  Most Rhinos are solitary animals, they like to feed by night or in the early morning and then again in the evening.  They are sometimes considered "lazy large animals" as they rest in shade during the heat of the day.  They are often accompanied by small Tickbirds or Oxpeckers as they are sometimes referred to that feed on parasites in the Rhinoceros skin and, by their cries, alert the large mammal to danger.  Although most Rhinoceroses are what we might refer to as a placid animal, emotionless per se, the female mother Rhino fiercely protect their offspring.
