Is the heat already getting you down?  (It is only the first week or so of JUNE.)   MaKe some Sun Tea*!!!  Don't just sit there all dehydrated  / get up offa that thing*-- find a substantial size glass jar with a wide opening and screw-on lid, rinse it clean, and get R-R-READY to GO!~  A lot of folks use a gallon jar/ that's mostly what you'll find on eBay.  You don't really need that much if it's just for one or two of you-- anything measuring 1 quart to a half-gallon is perfectly okay.= IT HAS TO BE GLASS. = Opening needs to be wide enough to get several teabags in & out easily.  ( Also you might consider what fits onto your refrigerator shelf. )  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~OoooKAY! Things to Consider: Is it morning or early part of the day?  Is it  really warm outside? /  BoTH these things affect your tea "brewing": How LONG you'll leave tea brewing in the sun, how MANY teabags to put in, and WHERE to place the glass jar filled with cold water & x number  of tea-bags.  If it's HoT outside & it's mid-morning, your tea will probably brew in a few hours. (That is, if you like mellow sun tea - I DO*!) More time left out in direct sunlight will make tea stronger.  ~*AS YOU CAN SEE, this "sun tea business" is not an exact science! It is more of an ART Form.*~   /  Next are proportions: you are familiar with the traditional concept of "a cup of Tea", correct?  That is: one teabag dunked for a pleasant short amount of time in a cup of hot water, yes?  Well, IMAGINE you are adding that clear H2O -not boiled but cold instead, into your glass container, figuring how many cups o'tea are splashing inside. Get ready to do the mental gymnastics of figuring how many teabags to add, then subtract by at least 2! That will make for more mellow tea. This is a SLOW-W-W *Brew!!  Find a stable & level place in your yard or on your porch to leave your jar of sun tea to brew.   This is end of my tea-posting for tonight June 9, 2006.  More to come regarding "kinds" of tea (flavors of tea in tea-bags : what works best.)    ============   *TeA BaGS*  ???? Which to use for delicious Iced Sun Tea?  > I suprisingly recommend a very inexpen$ive dollar store brand of TAGLESS Tea Bags. You can usually buy a box of 100 teabags for One dollar or so... even at the grocers (sometimes it is $2, depending on where you live & where you shop)  The main thing is to look  for the words: orange pekoe & pekoe cut black tea.  Net Wt 8 oz.  What is happening with the s-l-o-w brew of this type of tea in the sunlight, is the "gradual" blending of flavor, with the orange flavor standing out much more in a slow blend, than in a boiled cup or boiled & iced. Yummm!   You will see --the taste is well worth it.  Don't forget the slow brew that is delicious also fades more quickly.  So keep the number of teabags down for a mellow taste, and throw it away in 24 to 48 hours if not gone- gulped down by amazed  friends & neighbors.  Rinse jar with only a drop or two of soap, then rinse again, wipe inside of top of jar, rinse lid, & you are ready 2 go AGAIN!!  //// *To drink "sweet tea":  Use granulated white sugar to tase on top of  ice...or honey, or other sugar you enjoy.   SWEET is ~good~ too!!   *C*O*O*L*
