Often the words Invocation and Evocation are used when referring to summoning forth entities.  I would like to clarify the difference between these terms so that you understand them more clearly.

Evocation is the calling forth of an entity from the spiritual realm to an external manifestation in either the astral or physical realm.  The spiritual entity remains separate from the person calling them forth. 

Invocation is to bring some foreign intelligence within yourself.  This allows the entity to speak through you.  Also known as channeling. 

When a Genie conjurer does an Evocation, the spiritual entity must be bound to a physical item in order to remain in the physical realm.  There are many misconceptions about the binding of spirits and many people feel that they are trapped or enslaved against their will.  This couldn't be further from the truth.  Spiritual entities such as Djinn, Devatas, Ilmu Khodam do not enter the physical plane unless they are willing to be bound.  This is the only way in which they can interact with humans and share their gifts with them.  I like the word attaching better than binding because the spirits are free to travel anywhere within the spiritual realm, but when they are attached to a physical item this enables them to enter the physical realm when called upon.  They are in no way trapped and unable to leave the ring or item of jewelry they are "attached" to. 

Beware of those selling spells to bind your own entity.   This is a very dangerous process that often results in you getting an entity that you may not want.  A genie conjurer has the skills and abilities to differentiate between good spirits and bad spirits when doing an evocation.  A good genie conjurer only communicates with positive, high ranking spirits that can help humans. 

To free an entity is possible, but should only be done by an experienced Genie conjurer.  This is a very difficult process and should not be left to to the ametuer.
