Are you like me, one of those scrapbookers that needs to buy about everything out on the market, but then never have the time to use your items as planned?
I went through my stashes of old paper and stickers and it really creeped me out....what was I thinking buying that junk....where did I want to use that old fashioned paper? Several years ago when I started scrapbooking I had to buy so many things not knowing how to use them or for what (most of my older pictures are still waiting to get a decent make-over).
Now, I found a great new way to use even the older items that have lost their fancy...papers now get a fresh new face by adding paint or using sandpaper to give them the aged look, they are being ripped, sewn, inked and even put into collages. Bright patterns are cut to smaller pieces and mixed with smaller patterns...
For my old stickers I also use sandpaper to get the gloss off (I am not quite sure why anyone would use those glossy stickers anymore?) or I cut word stickers apart to use them as single letters. Some stickers get a new face by adding tints and paints or being collaged.
Since I can't throw anything away (especially since I spent a lot of money on these items...) I figured at least I coud try to get a better use out of them. So far I have saved a lot on new items just by re-inventing the old ones, and whatever does not work is going to our local school!
