ALLO
The Thing not to do is go on top of the roof and try to fix the problem when the storm is on.
Tonight there was a big storm, rain, lightning, high winds. The roof started leaking, down in the upstairs bathroom from the light socket.
the first thing to do is turn off the breaker of that part of the house, the leak is in one corner but the damage could be at the very top of the roof.
The second thing to do is to direct the water into a the sink or toilet or bathtub or a window. your best is the bathtub. your ceiling as to be redone, so take a screw diver and a hammer and make a hold in the ceiling ( choose the part of the ceiling that as the most water accumulation). Then take a long plastic and tape one part of the plastic on the ceiling(In this case the part of the ceiling that looks dry, add tom tacks if needed to keep it straight) if you do not have a long plastic, take a couple of garbage bags tape them together, that should be long enough to reach a window or a sink or bathtub. the water will follow down into a drain, in that case less danger of damage on the other floors and ceilings.
Stay safe and do not take unnecessary risk when the storm is on, you will have olenty of time to fix the damage once the storm as past by.
good luck.
