STOP going to the post office + DONT wait in Line = SHIPSTREAM.
I've been selling online since the early 1990s. My office has always been just a few blocks
from a US post office, so I resisted geting any upgraded in house services. I'm still only 10
blocks from the PO... but I thought I would try Pitney Bowes Shipstream. They sent me a
coupon to try it for 30 days.... and I never waited in line at the PO again.
I should say that I don't actually do the shipping, my assistant does it at $10 per hour. About
2 years ago we started using Pitney Bowes ShipStream for printing postage at the office,
WHAT A BREEZE. Its $19 a month for the service, you get the software and a free 10
pound scale that hooks up to the computer. And I think they give you $10 postage to start, and
the first month free.
I figured in the course of a month my assistant was waiting in line at the post office at least
4 to 8 hours. So the $19 would be less expensive.
The most difficult thing was setting up the label, but Pitney Bowes can walk you thru this over
the phone... which is one of the best things, they have phone help, which we use anytime we
hit a snag with a package. A true blessing.
We use labels that come 2 to a page, put them in the printer, and VOILA. Address the label,
weigh it all with the software on the computer. We have every package tracked, for a mere
$.015, delivery confirmation comes free with Priority mail. It just couldn't be any easier for
creating postage at the office, or home office. Just inside our post office is a giant drop off bin,
secure of course, and every day we... I mean my assistant, drop off the pre-posted packages.
The Pitney Bowes Shipstream has it all, insurance, tracking, certified, registered, international.
Its all billed to my atm card, so I can see what I'm spending on postage online, as well as a
monthly tally and report thru ShipStream. I wish we had started using it years earlier... oh the
time and money I would have saved.
This is not a commercial. We use this service and can't believe how much better it is for us, our
customers. Most of our packages are delivered lickty split. The system also catches when a zipcode
is wrong, or an address has an issue.
We drop off our packages, but the local mail carrier will also take them with him, so there is
virtully no need to go to the Post Office.
Try it. You won't go back to the post office line up again. Its made my bottom line more profitable.
Their website is p b dot com. If you ship a lot, its very cost effective. We ship 30-75 packages per week.
Blessings, Max Rainet.
