I am not a expert in silver. I was told by a few sellers of Indonesian and Bali jewelry that the sterling silver in the jewelry there selling has been tested and is only ( 85 percent sterling silver ) That is not United States standards of sterling silver of .925. I asked them if they knew what the other percent was. They said that it was only the sterling content that was being tested. I make sterling jewelry and I personally think that Indonesian or Bali silver does not look right. At 85 percent sterling, I understand why that silver looks off color or a little dull. I am also hearing about sterling silver with more lead being added. Is any one up for a little lead poisoning ? Take care,,,Stichalot.
