When buying a Bag of Starbucks coffee beans or bag of ground coffee make sure to ask the e-bay seller what the "Use by date" is listed on the bag.

Many times you could be getting a bag that has sat for a year or more!
The beans can go rancid! Your coffee will have a nasty bitter-old taste to it.

If you want to ensure that you are getting a fresh and quality tasting bag of coffee check the date, and ask if the bag is factory sealed, with the small circle on the side of the coffee bag that helps to keep the air out of the bag.

 *You should not purchase a bag of coffee that has sat for 6 months...it will not taste as fresh as what your used to getting in the retail stores. Coffee can go stale-or taken when expired from stores!

Also one more hint-many people think that keeping coffee beans in a freezer is the best way to keep coffee beans fresh for a longer period of time.
This is wrong-keep your beans in an air tight container in a dark, dry area.
