First of all, I know everyone is going to ask, if it is so easy, why arent you a powerseller ? Well I am, but I took a 5 month break from selling on Ebay starting in Janurary, and will have it back in August... I was a powerseller after 4 months of being on EBay, and am looking forward to recieving the rank back soon.

Now, there is always the honest way to become a powersller on EBay... Work hard, sell products, and recieve good feedback.. But not alot of people are doing this now days, and I wondered how?

I went on the interent, and after a long search, I found an article written by a gentleman that gauranteed for $9.95, you would be a powerseller on EBay within 3 months of creating a NEW Ebay ID, and that the only reason it would take 3 months was because of the mandatory 90 day waiting period of staying in good standing. WOW I thought, NO WAY, this can be true, but this guy had a full money back gaurantee on this, and stated that you needed NOTHING to sell, and only about $150.00 to make this happen. WOW again, from a sellers standpoint with alot of product, being a powerseller is huge, and can bring a much larger premium to your auctions. So of course anyone would pay 150.00 dollars to be a powerseller on EBay, and avoid the hassle!

Let me add here, I am pretty sure this guys way of doing this is against EBay policies in some way, but man was it smooth~~~ So in sending this out, I am not advocating anyone try this, just be aware and look for the signs of the FAKE POWESRSELLERS :)

Well first of all, like anyone else on EBay, create a screen name.. And then go right into selling... Create a auction with a .01 cent buy it now and no shipping, and make 120 items available in the same auction. SO you have one auction listed, with 120 items available to sell and recieve feedback on..

In the auction, make up some STUPID heading that noone would ever stumble on in a search, and keyword it against something no one has ever heard of. This makes it so though that no one really ever sees the auction.. After you list it, you make the auction PRIVATE, so after feedback is left, no one can view the auction.. Now most people know at least 20 - 30 people who use EBay, and family, so these people are encourage to have friends and family first buy these auctions, telling them it will help you start a buisness.. Of course friend and family are going to help out, they get feedback, you get feedback, and it cost NOTHING!!!! Now the person is encouraged to creat multiple Ebay screen names, and is told NOT to do it from home to compensate for the additional feedback needed to reach a hundred..... Now get this though.. This guy goes as far as to offer the 100 feedbacks needed for an additional $25.00 dollars, and he states his client base is so large, that they ALL support each other in their quest to be a POWERSELLER. If you went this way, it would probably look much more conviencing to future buyers, because the feedback comes from members with higher feedback ratings, and it doesnt look as suspicious.

SO, now you have a NEW EBAY ID.... An auction with enough items to get you the required feedbacks, and a means to get them all sold in a day if you pay $25.00, now all you have left is to meet the $1000.00 a month in average sales rate, and wait your 90 day period.....

This is the part that got me laughing :) NOW, since your auction was for .01, I figured it would take years to get to a thousand like this.. BUT THEN AGAIN, this guy had it worked out.. He again would have you set up an auction in the same private format, 6 of them actually, for 2,000.00 a piece buy it now this time! Totaling 12,000.00 which covers a YEAR of powerseller ranking average money to hold the rank.... SO, he has the member basically go and do the same thing, and have family members buy the auctions and leave feedback. This is where you need the $150.00 dollars.. because although you didnt have anything to sell and did, you will still have to pay the EBAY fees for the sell, and GUESS WHAT GUYS?

It took you 2 days to be a EBAY POWERSELLER per EBay requirements, and now you can casually sell a few item and lift the PRIVATE AUCTION STATUS, because by the time you get the powerseller ranking, those auctions will not be viewable at all! SO on your 90th day on EBay, you are a powerseller on EBay, and you have NEVER SOLD A THING! He went on the say that people also sell these EBay ID's to others sometimes.. Talk about getting scammed.

Finally he concluded that a member that is willing to risk his EBAY ID can do this and be a POWERSELLER in a few weeks if they already have 100 feedbacks and have been a member for a while. Just a few fake auctions and your a POWERSELLER that everyone trusts :)

So now you know how scammers have found a way to network and find better ways to make there scams on EBay more alluring and precise. SO remember, next time you see a powerseller on EBay with 100% feedback, it is possible that this guys has never sold a thing on EBay, and now has the means to get your confidence, and then MORE of your money!

Stay vigilant in reviewing feedback for others.. If it doesnt look right, it probably isnt, and contact safeharbor so they can investigate. Always better to be safe than sorry!
