Update:Feb 11,07

I traveled that great Airlines Southwest again.Experienced no upper respiratory illness. I boosted the supplements I take and also used a Saline solution and vicks vapor rub on nasal passages and made sure I washed hands even more often than usual. Several people were visibly ill on the plane coughing and sneezing.
 Perhaps we all need to go to a masks similar to those used in other highly populated countries to reduce travel related ilness?When we are ill the masks should be made available on all airlines by the attendants ?

UPDATE:  1/8/07  QUESTION? How many of you get a upper respiratory infection every time you fly?  Cough,Cough,Every time my partner and I fly lately we get an Upper respiratory infection. We have friends who experience the same illness and it is becoming a real problem!cough Cough, Have any of you figured out how to fly without getting this infection? It is my understanding it is because the air is circulated over and over throughout the cabin to save fuel? That we are exposed to any germs out and about over and over as the air is recirculated? Cough cough, What have you found to be the best way to prevent or treat this infection when you have it? Cough,cough?If you know the secret how about writing a guide on how to do it! Thanks,Woody cough,cough!

It has been awhile since I have flown. I was surprised today with how my partner and I were treated  Southwest attendants on the Flight from Columbus Ohio to LA. The Southwest Airlines company just gets better and better from the top down to the bottom up!!
During 2006 I have been most impressed by the Lexus Dealer at Easton in Columbus Ohio and the Southwest Airlines and they Get Woody's the get my Honeycrisp Apple award for the year 2006 a tie! AS  soon as we boarded the plane the were hovering like a personal care attendants. I had fallen on my back the night before and had bruised my fat back from head to toe and was extremely sore. Yet, I  could not miss this very important trip as the Santahitman. I had planned for months of making a Big Hit in Hollywood and Santa Monica.
The attendants virtually hovered and hustled to  keep us happy and comfortable during our flight! They were doing this with everyone and especially the kids who were traveling alone obviously Children of single families split between parents from mid west to the Gold Coast. Those attendants really cared for those kids on my flight yet they set reasonable boundaries and the kids listened and obeyed them better than parents, or teachers they were exactly like a good trained Nanny's! I believe there were about 11 Children on that plane  the most I have seen traveling without parents on any airline!They ranged in age from It seemed like 5 to high school age. The attendants weren't phoneys like some other service  hospitality I have experienced in other situations but the REAL Thing
The youth responded extremely well!
We actually felt like we were flying First class on a budget fare and the miles just melted like the snow on the red mountain tops we flew over! The little meal packet was just right for today's travel and the beverage refreshments were fresh and as frequent as needed. When the plane landed I Santa Hitman /Cowboy Country accompanied  With HoHoHo's for Attendant CESAR with a wonderful rendition of Jingle Bells while he provided his great sound effects of the reindeer hitting the runway full gallop!When I arrived everyone as ready and an Wheel chair showed up at the door for my stiff injured body and I was actually whisked to the baggage spin in record time.
The service has improved so much since our last trip on Southwest I thought it was a different airline.However the quality wasn't anything to squawk about back then!! I don't know where they find the Nasty People for the r popular Squawk TV show!
I was absolutely impressed how they treated the elderly and Infirm,it was done with dignity every step of the way! If teachers and hospital care givers were sent to Southwest Airlines for training no one would be left behind in schools or the medical delivery systems!
