Australian Sheepskin Slippers

Why Genuine Sheepskin is our material of choice....

Sheepskin is a natural product, durable, lightweight and soft. It possesses many unique and desirable qualities.

The Genuine Article - One Material
Qwaruba only uses GENUINE SHEEPSKIN - a SINGLE material which has a durable, supple, pliable, sueded exterior on one side, with a soft, dense wool on the other. It is NOT two pieces glued together,eg a stiff pig/cow suede outer adhered to lining material (an imitation, usually sold at a lower price).

A Natural Product
Sheepskin is not a man-made material. As each sheepskin is unique and natural, there may be variations in texture and color as well as some natural imperfection (eg marks, Scars etc). This is your assurance that you are enjoying the comfort and beauty of REAL sheepskin.

Water Resistant
The suede sheepskin exterior is naturally water-resistant. For added protection, the exterior may be sprayed with a good quality water and stain protector. Do not usa a silicone based product.

Wicking Properties
Sheepskin wool is capable of holding as much as 30% of its weight in moisture, before feeling wet. The hollow fiber structure of the wool actually draws moisture away from the body, keeping the wearer warm, comfortable and dry. Synthetics by contrast, hold as little as 2%.

Warm and Breathable
The hollow fiber structure of wool is a natural insulator. When combined with the breathable properties of wool, sheepskin footwear will keep your feet warm, comfortable and dry year round.

Durable and Resilient
Sheepskin wool can be bent 20,000 times without the fibers breaking. Rayon, in comparison, breaks after 75 bends.

Bio-Degradable
Like other natural materials, sheepskin will return in time, to its constituent elements.

A Recycled Product
Sheepskin is essentially a by-product of the food and wool industry. Instead of being discarded, the sheepskin is "tanned", enabling this valuable natural resource to be utilized for  many functions - including long-lasting sheepskin footwear. As it is a by-product, Qwaruba Sheepskin Footwear does not threaten andy species.

A Natural Moisturizer
The high lanolin content in sheepskin wool serves as a natural moisturizer for the skin.
