If you found this useful , please let me know by CLICKING YES BELOW or sign my (guestbook) <---Free advertisement for you! (anyone going to mine will see yours and your items for sale)
Short explanation:
( How and where is in description.)
1) search the item your selling in (auctions that ended)
2) review the items to see which sold better and why
3)search the auctions that have sold the item you want to sell and try to make yours just as or more appealing to the buyer (shipping price, starting price etc.)
4)click, the (sell one like this) tab in the item you just searched! (THIS WILL SET UP EVERYTHING FOR YOU ) you just have to fill out YOUR description from that point on.
5) (One of the most important) things to do is...plan..plan..plan..your listings to end at the most convenient times for your customers!! Cant stress enough!! ALL of your listings end at he EXACT same time you started them, only 1,3,5 , 7 or 10 days later. (which ever time limit you choose your listing to run.) Most will just list items when they have a moment to sit! The best time to start your listing (which is when it will finish) is between 8 and 10 PM eastern US. time. This way everyone on the east coast is sitting at their computer (before bed time) and everyone on the west coast is home from work and finished with their dinner! Sounds good to me!!
6) feel free to email me any time and will be more than willing to help with what I can!
PS..there are some items that ALMOST ALWAYS sells around its AS NEW price! REMEMBER: Most People will bid .01 - .99 on just about anything! and will save you $ on thelisting and insertion fee's, so if possible, start low! (Reserve items get passed by often--if you must? you might think about putting the res. price in description.)
When I started selling, I too was nervous about selling and had no idea where to begin. Just wanted to pass a couple ideas along to help you get started. First, when you decide on an item that you would like to sell, you can go to the search box (where you put in the item your searching) and to the right is the (ADVANCED) search option! This will take you to an area that will give you different options to do you searching. Just under your search box there is a box you can check off--to "search items that have already ended" (pertaining to the item you would like to sell) and this will allow you to see how much your item has sold for and you can get a better idea of how different sellers, sold the same item. Take a look at all the different sold items and try to get an idea why some have sold higher than others. ( this will give you a good start on how you might want to set up your description and selling style)
Next: one thing I noticed that many do, is, "the main title" (the title of the item that people will do a search on) are very poorly writen. You want to put as many words in the title that would pull your item up when doing a search. (try to think of what words "YOU" would search to try and find this item! ANOTHER thing is.. some get turned off by the high priced shipping.(as a beginner, you might want to keep shipping at a few pennies lower than cost, to build up your reputation in the beginning because you will be graded on the 5 star system and the 1st ten items that people grade will show up very clear on your rating system. Hope this helps!
