Any second hand Bugaboo product on ebay is not covered by the original warranty that came with it! Even though each Bugaboo pushchair/ buggy comes with a two year guarantee this is none transferable after a resale! I have this from Bugaboo themselves. Anyone looking to sell Bugaboo items on ebay should be aware that a although it sounds great to say that the item is still under warranty I am afraid it simply isn't. If the buggy breaks, which many Bee's have (a loose handle clasp is very common and renders the contraption nigh on impossible to maneuver after only 4 months of use!)
Experience is thus: I purchased a Bugaboo Bee on ebay from an honest seller, who'd doubled up buggy wise as they'd been gifted something similar and so they decided to sell the Bugaboo. The Bugaboo Bee was in perfect condition. They included the boxes, instructions, DVD and warranty the buggy came in we were thrilled. After about 4 months the handle bar issue (above) arose. I contacted Bugaboo who said to take back the buggy with proof of purchase to the place we got it and they would then send it on to them for replacement/repair. Well I didn't have proof of purchase. I contacted the seller on ebay and they did their best to find it but alas no! They were in the other end of the country anyway so we'd have been massively inconvenienced to get the buggy to the shop for servicing anyway.
I contacted Bugaboo directly again and told them the situation honestly and they stated that they did not honour warranties on second hand goods! Disaster! I did include in the email who we'd just taken delivery of our little girl which they congratulated me on and said that they'd make an exception and provide me with a replacement chassis as they know the handle clasp to be an issue on some of the Bee that have gone on sale. But they emphasised the exceptional nature of this kindness several times in the communication and stated quite categorically that any further problems would not be covered!!!
I just don't want to see someone disappointed and lose out in any way so I thought I'd post this review, to protect both buyers and sellers alike from an issue which to this date, as far as I am aware, remains unpublicised.
Hope this helps someone.
