This guide is meant to be a buyer beware since used Boy Scout Uniforms can be a great alternative to buying new ones (which can tend to be a bit pricy). When purchasing used Official Boy Scout Shirts that have patches on them, be sure to ask the seller how the patches were applied. If the patches were applied with glue, you will more than likely not be able to get the glue off. Some sellers may conveniently leave that out of the description and you will be stuck with globs of glue on a shirt that your son/husband refuses to wear. I have been successful when there was only a light layer of glue using G*of Off, but more than likely there will still be some residue. Of course, if you plan on placing patches in the same areas as the one pictured on auction (which is likely) it shouldn't be a concern. Shirts with hand-stitched patches are the best, followed by machine stitched. The needle holes left from removal can usually be ironed out. I recommend buying shirts that have no patches on them so you can see any/all imperfections that may exist.
