A seller listed these two jet skis but then cancelled the auction after I inquired about them. He claims to be selling 2) 2005 Sea-Doo RXT jet skis, each with less than 5 hours on them, including the trailer for $6000. He claimed to send the jet skis once he received confirmation of the $2500 deposit being transfered into a holding account by eBay on his behalf. At that point I would have 5 days to test drive them to determine my satisfaction & then send the remaining $3500 at which I would receive a tracking # for the title & bill of sale that he would send to me by mail. Once the auction was removed by the seller, locating the original auction was impossible. He then sent emails to my personal email account (not My Messages on eBay) supposedly from eBay requesting information such as eBay ID, name, address, telephone#, etc. and requested I process a $2500 cash deposit via Western Union Money Transfer. After researching this type of transaction with ebay resources, I discovered that #1: if eBay sends you an email it will also be included within your "My Messages" on your eBay account, #2: eBay doesnt recommend processing transactions via Western Union Money Transfer & doesnt back them with the protection coverage they provide when purchasing from eBay legitimately, #3 eBay states they will never hold moneys sent by Western Union Money Transfer. Ebay has approved escrow accounts that they use for holding funds and Western Union is not one of them.
