As your collection of Morgans moves into difficult territory and the coins begin to cost many hundreds and even thousands of dollars and the grade almost inevitably drops into the AG-G-VG range, remember one very simple rule of all the major grading systems: IF IT'S 'GOOD,' IT HAS FULL RIMS. IF IT DOESN'T HAVE FULL RIMS, IT'S 'ABOUT GOOD' or lower or damaged. There, I just saved you a couple of thousand dollars. Know this simple rule and stick to it. It also applies to most denominations of coinage. There are subtleties and very hard to quantify areas in grading for this series, but this rule is very straightforward and quite easy to apply. Avoid fraud and getting ripped off. Be very cautious of dealers and sellers who do not observe this standard. These are the big money coins in most sets. When and if you go to sell the most prized pieces of your collection, a dealer or experienced buyer will use this as a yardstick in pricing your coin. Ebay will NOT, NOT, NOT protect you on this, you must do it yourself. Take a second and vote for this guide.
