Is there a difference between SATA1 and SATA2 cables?

Serial ATA-300 cables will work with Serial ATA-150
Serial ATA-150 cables may not work with Serial ATA-300 .

Due to the higher speed with Serial ATA-300, you cannot be sure a Serial ATA-150 cable was made to handle the higher frequency.
For the best performance you need two sata2 cables for connecting two sata 2 drive to a computer.
If you computer motherboard do not have the function  you can add  a Sata2 card  to your system.
