Well you can but it might help to have a Carb set up like the SUs in the photo . Your Car can run on Pure grain alcohol ,but electronic fuel injection is not going to like it at all . First of all Alcohol will not make as much power as gasoline per stroke and the next issue will be Heat , on Alcohol the engine will run real cold and Electronic fuel injection systems depend on heat to run computer programs . So the computer would need to be remaped to do the job right . It is possible to run a duel system computer and start up on gasoline then switch to pure alcohol when warmed up . Mechanical fuel injection is more alcohol friendly ,The Army uses trucks with adjustable mechanical fuel injection and other battle field equipment that can be converted to run almost any fuel in a pinch .Although alcohol is some what of a last choice over all oil base fuels ,due to the fact that the trucks are Hyper cyclic Diesels .During World War II the Germans ran aircraft piston engines on a mix of Alcohol and Ether toped off with a mist of water and nitro into the Supercharger ,This was done only for a limited time in dog fights with aircraft at high alitudes . A mix like so could make the plane 40 miles per hr. faster . Fuel saving was not on their minds .I have run a car on pure Grain Alcohol . with no real problems . What I had to work with was a British engine with two SU carbs . Just like the ones in the photo .All I had to do was make a adjustment with the main jet flow needle ( almost a full turn  open ) giving it a little more Alcohol fuel then it was getting with gas .and things went fine . One big plus was the car smelled better to .All old British cars leak a little something  and it made me think I was in a Pub instead of a Gas refinery .And with cleaner synthetic oil leaks the old Brit smelled real good .I only ran Alcohol in the Summer .The engine stayed real cold also to avoid rust in the fuel system ,I added a dab of two stroke oil to the Alcohol from time to time . I also ran a Drag race Spark plug system (MSD everything they have that will fit ) . I did stop running pure Grain , My big brother got into my storage and started selling Mason Jars of my fuel to his biker Buds (local motorcycle gang bad people to! ) as white lightning .When I was fueling up one day a drum was a little lite and I ask Mr Big if he was fueling his bikes a lot more then normal and he handed me a Mason Jar about 1/2 full with a little cake color and water added ,Stating "chill out", wad of cash in hand $35 a Jar and he forgot all about my cut untill that second. That ended my Alcohol fuel days real fast  , Thank the Gods all of them ,that His Biker Gang got busted for Other stuff not Mason Jars of My fuel .And gas was only $1.75 back then and it took a drop back to $1.35 for a few years. And some how Mr. Big missed out on Jail when Drug inforcement hit his buds(for everything else on earth). His Mason Jar supply ran out just in time and he stayed home with some cheap beer that day and later he did not no a thing when the Feds dropped in and grilled him for hours ,His buds almost to the last one went to the slammer .But don't be fooled by people that offer cheap add on stuff so you can run Alcohol in you new fuel injection systems . Their are a lot more problems to iron out other than just simple changes to the computer . I once changed a 1974 VW fast back over to Alcohol (as well as other stuff added ) and it ended up with a 350 cmf Holy carb and a new distributor and MSD stuff and small extra fuel tank for Gasoline to flush the system and for cold starts And the last item was higher compression .Last word on running Pure grain ! To get the most out of the fuel you will need something like a 15 to 1 compression ratio or a supercharger to boost to that end of the scale.Then with a super if you run gas just shut it down .The computer and Fuel injection from the VW went in the trash can (were it should have been from day one ) If you have a place to make your own Alcohol fine , but maybe you would be better off selling the stuff in Mason jars to your Buddies if they are Bikers that is, for $35 a qt.each and cut with a little water, you could buy a lot of Gasoline ! But look out ,If you sell it to a ATF FED you might go to the slammer with Mr. Bigs Buds .In nations with real freedom you can make your own drinking fuel without taxes and cops "If your freedoms are Taxed you have no freedom ". Pure Grain and I need a Slight Timing adjustment . I run a MSD 6 unit with timing retard and advance from the Dash . I can make 1 degree adjustments at a time or all the way to 45 degree running  on the road at any speed . This is a simple device add on . Also I have looked at a Web sight that sells a DOT approved add on kit to add on to your car or truck fuel injection system .I have not tested this system but if its built right it should run good and should also improve gas milage since most FI systems are poorly made and add to fuel wast,most FI systems are only built to meet government Air Pollution standards and in some cases use a lot more gas than nessary to keep the oil guy rich not save you Cash at the Rippem off pump .The Kit can be found at Change 2 E85 and they also state issues that are mostly true related to running on E85 .Kit cost under $400 and looks  EZ to install provided that all your plastic fantastic wire plugs dont snap off when you plug in their add ons .I am not selling this system ,and I run a Carb so I have not checked it out on my car please use good judgement on this one .Last of all the best fuel saving device is a OVERDRIVE unit look into one built by Gearvendors "not cheap but they work good" and their are other brands also .My car has a Overdrive unit,without it I get 30 mpg with it 40 mpg .If I have helped you These guys are not paying me for the lead so make arangements to send me a  check for the advice ,what ever you think its worth .
