Finding that perfect stamp to complete a collection or to add exact detailing to your hand stamped, crafted card or photo album and scrap-booking page is an indescribable excitement! Rubber stamping can be a craft, an art and definitely an obsession! 

To do an efficient search for stamps on Ebay, always add the word or name of the stamp,  such as: hand stamped by rubber stamp  the name of the company, if you know it and if you are looking for a set or group, always add the word Lot, such as: lot pooh rubber stamp to the search title. Tools, supplies, powders, stickers, paper are also good search descriptions to find great stuff to add to your collection. Has the seller described the tools as in working condition?                                  

Rubber stamps come as wood mounted or foam mounted or unmounted.  Does the seller list the stamps as rubber or foam?  Or are they foam stamps? Mounted or Unmounted?

Wood Mount rubber stamps have a foam cushion between the stamp and the wood for cushioning.  The stamp image is often in color but sometimes in black and white inked right onto the top side of the wood block. 

Foam Mount rubber stamps have foam blocks with cushioning between the rubber stamp and the mount.  The graphic of the stamp can be in color or in black and white. 

Foam Stamps have a foam mount and foam image.  The design is depicted by the shape. 

Unmounted rubber stamps are just the rubber.  They come in a plethora of unmounted images and are great fun to find!  It is a very simple process to mount your stamps onto wood blocks with double sided sticky foam.  Your stamped image can be adhered to the top side of the block and painted or inked or colored in as you choose.

It is possible to find rubber stamp wood mount blocks so that you can mount your own rubber!  Does the seller state the dimensions of the blocks and or the type of wood?  Sanded or unfinished?

There are many, many stamp production companies out there. Using an image for resale varies and is sometimes prohibited, this policy is termed 'angel'... Angel policies vary from company to company. This means you are allowed to sell any hand stamped items that you have made. DIY or Do It Yourself artists are very grateful for angel companies. One of my favorite stamp companies is the personal stamp exchange (PSX) no longer in business but now licensed to Inkadinkadoo. Some PSX stamps have become collectable and are listed as retired. Such as this stamp, my favorite:
