I purchased the Home school edition of the Russian 1 and 2. The product
is five star software for learning Russian. BUT BEWARE Rosetta Stone
(Fairfield Language Technologies) had trouble with copyright issues.
Earlier versions were to easy to copy. People made illegal copies. So
Rosetta Stone (Fairfield Language Technologies) PUNISH not the people
who make illegal copies, but punish the people who spend the money to
buy legal use of the product!!!
There is no way to make back up of product. No way to install cds on hard drive. You must use the cds at all times. Any damaged disk must be returned to them for replacement. You are unable to study Russian while the product is being shipped back and forth. The current new product (Feb 2007) arrived with cds in CHEAP CARD BOARD. I mean cheap bargain basement card board! If you keep product in the provided packaging, you risk scratching the cds!!!!! YOU WILL need to buy jewel case or other case to protect cds from damage.
I recommend the program for learning Russian it is working for me. For learning Russian the software is outstanding. But I give the care of the customer the lowest mark possible. It is just plain bad. I have never seen such bad customer care from a high end program. I guess Rosetta Stone (Fairfield Language Technologies) figure the customer needs the great program so they will treat us very poorly.
You will learn Russian. You will not get the kind of customer care the price of the software should give you.
