The rose is my favorite flower.  According to the language of flowers and various traditions, the following is a brief listing of the popular meanings for specific rose types and their colors.

By Color:

* Burgundy - Unconscious beauty.

* Coral - Destiny, desire, longevity, despair.

* Cream - Perfection.

* Lavender - Enchantment, passionate affection and devotion, love at first sight.

* Orange - Desire, enthusiasm, fascination.

* Peach - Modesty, immortality, lets get together.

* Pink - Appreciation, thank you, admiration, perfect happiness, friendship.

* Dark Pink - Appreciation, gratitude, thankfulness.

* Light Pink - Admiration, sympathy, grace, joy.

* Pale Pink - Modesty.

* Red - I love you, love, beauty, courage, passion, eternal love, and respect.

* Deep Reds - Unconscious beauty.

* Dark Crimson Red - Mourning.

* Red & White Together - Unity, engagement.

* White - Purity, innocence, silence or secrecy, reverence, humility, truth, I am worthy of you.

* White Rosebud - Symbolic of girlhood, heart ignorant of love, too young to love.

* Yellow - Joy, gladness, friendship, promise of new beginning. (In Victorian times yellow indicated the end of an affair, betrayal, jealousy).

* Rosebud - Beauty and youth.

* Rose Leaves - Hope.
