If any of you are fortunate enough to read this prior to your purchase, I strongly recommend against purchasing a Roketa Sicily 50cc.
Here are 5 reasons why NOT to purchase a Roketa Sicily:
1) Read some posts by users, and you'll see I'm not lying... The thing peaks at around 22mph, which is actually dangerous in traffic with angry motorists behind you. Try taking that around the city!
2) This Chinese-made scooter is poor quality... Clearly, no testing is performed prior to your first ride. When you order the scooter online, you receive it in the mail packaged in a metal case and wrapped in foam/plastic. Once you sign for the item because it seemingly is in good shape, there's no going back (after all, the freight companies' job is just to deliver it in whatever condition it came to them in). Most returns are a problem once you have put gasoline in the thing and ride it. If you need to return it due to a manufacturer "defect" good luck! Plus, you have to pay $200+ for shipping (which is about 1/4 of the value you bought it for or more!).
3) Mine was "restricted" because the brake discs were warped.... Again, chinese quality at its finest... You'd think someone along the chain might actually check to see if the wheels rotate freely! This is something you can't check when the scooter arrives at your door in a metal crate because it seemingly looks okay!
4) Replacement parts other than a spark plug become hard to find... You need to order from overseas and hope it's the right part. Also, you best be your own mechanic.
5) There is poor documentation in the form of manuals that come with the bike... sure, there's a "Here is the throttle, here is the wheel, here is the ignition..." type manual - but that's pretty self-explanatory... Don't expect a "here's how to change your spark plug" information.... The Chinese companies are notorious for poor documentation.
6) YES, I KNOW, I ONLY SAID 5 REASONS BUT HERE'S #6... I believe Roketa is out of business!!!!
There are many many online forums for chinese scooters or scooters in general. PLEASE don't take my word for it and do your own research!
I hope this saves someone from making a mistake ...
