Hello Everyone:
well thanks to a fellow ebay user, I received the news that one of the most reliable hobby shops for Rivarossi parts has shut it's doors for good.
Golf Manor Hobbies who was the only hobby shop stocking rivarossi parts, the other two hobby shops that sold rivarossi parts are no longer in business.
the really sad part about it is the fact another ebay user purchased the lot and it selling it all over ebay with poor descriptions and in group lots, anyone can use a part or catalog number but it is a problem for some people who don't know the numbers for the parts.
it would have been nice to see an "EXPERIENCED" Hobby Shop get all of the parts, but sadly that didn't happen, and this is going to make it harder for a lot of us to acquire parts for older rivarossi locomotives and rolling stock.
Hornby International now owns Rivarossi, and they believe the locomotives should be throw away items once the warranty expires.
Sadly the people who run Hornby don't have a clue on the hobby, most of us who own such trains keep them longer than 90 days.
one ebay user who is helpful with rivarossi parts is K4 supply, he is a great guy and he will go out of his way to try to help.
so for any of you out there wishing to buy a rivarossi item, please keep in mind all of what I have mentioned, especially if the item needs TLC, parts aren't easy to find anymore.
take care and enjoy this hobby
George
