Ritual Tools: Adding to your magick cupboard
This guide will feature items for more advanced magick use.
Well, you have the basic magick supplies and now you are ready to add to your magick cupboard.
Some stones/gems containing natural magick properties to infuse with your own magick for purpose are:
Tigers Eye: protection/confidence
Azurite: third eye, to see beyond what the human eye can see
Lapis: Excellent connective for advanced psychic work
Moonstone: intuition and advanced psychic work
Ruby: emotional pain
Sapphire: authority/knowledge
Soldalite: intuition/mediations/dream work for life path isues
Turquoise: astral work
Mortar and Pestle: If you are going to buy herbs in bulk or grow your own then this is a must have item. This is the most efficient way grind herbs. This is also a handy item to have on the altar just in case your working magick and realize that the herb you are going to put into that poppet or dream pillow is too large to fit. A good altar size is anywhere from 2-6 inches, a good kitchen size depending on use would be anywhere from a 6 - 12 in size. The material that this item is fashioned out of is up to the individual.
Herbs: Based on your magickal intention there are a myriad of herbs available. It would be most helpful to buy a good book on herbs and magickal plants; Scott Cunningham's book Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs would make a wonderful addition to your collection.
Essential Oils: There are so many oils available for different magickal purpose the list is too extensive for a review. However, a couple of more to add to your magickal supplies would be:
Patchouli: protection
Rosemary: protection
Sweetgrass: blessing purifying
The sweetgrass oil may be a bit difficult to find but it can be found.
Metal Elements: This is for the more advanced magick worker. These elements are associated with Earth, Air, Fire & Water and because of toxicity, there are alternatives though caution should still be taken in to great consideration in handling and use.
Lead (highly toxic) is associated with Earth. Lead is toxic and cannot be readily purchased, however an alternative would be to use leads for a mechanical lead pencil.
Aluminium Foil: is associated with Air and can be used to intensify an item/image. Wrap a psychic stone/gem in it while working with it or when used in a spell bag or poppet, shiny side in so as not to reflect but to direct back to the item.
Brass: is associated wth fire. Small brass bells are inexpensive and can be used for the properties. An example would be a money spell would be to sit six green ritual tapers on six brass bells (push the base of the candle onto the top ringer/holder loop of the bell.)
Copper: is associated with water. Copper is a bit pricey but can be purchased in small sizes and lengths/fitting to make wands or in spell bags/poppets for healing or money issues.
eBay is a great resource for these items. Shoppe away and if possible support your eBay witch or Pagan!
