Right or Left / Which is Which???

I've been selling Automotive Parts for over 25 years and the question or misunderstanding

I run into the most is Which is the Left or Right side on a Vehicle!

Is it from standing in front of the vehicle or from behind that you determine left or right...

20 or so years ago we use to teasingly ask if you need the boy's or girl's side. But that is

way to politically incorrect or chauvinistic for todays marketplace. We then started asking

if you needed the drivers or passengers side item, but now with Ebay and the world marketplace

growing daily for us we forget that our customers may be in Europe driving on the "wrong" side

of the road.. Still making way for errors in Which is Right or Left.

Well here it is.. The standard rule of thumb is....

SIT IN YOUR VEHICLE !!!

Now when your asked is that a left fender / door / head lamp / tail light/ etc. you will have the perspective you need to answer the perplexing question! 

In America Left = drivers side

If you've found the lake then Left is the Port side.
