Careful when buying travel.  I bought a cruise from an ebay Square Trade Dealer, luxurytravel05 (was Christinetravel when I paid her for my cruise).  I paid $2,858l.52 for a Carribean Cruise.  The travel agent paid the minimum deposit to the cruiseline (Princess Cruise) to get the booking number.  She never paid the balance and the Cruise Line cancelled.  She claimed it was the cruiseline's fault and I believed her.  She rescheduled for a cruise 6 months later, January 28, 2006 which was the next time I could take vacation.  I paid $500.00 for non-refundable round trip air fare tickets' , luggage, and clothing appropriate for the cruise.  December 12, Princess cruise sent me an email with a password to my account.  When I logged in I found that this booking too had been cancelled.  I called Princess Cruise line and kept selecting the travel agent information selection from the recorded message till I got to a Princess Cruise Representative, Brenda.  She told me that the original cruise scheduled for June 11, 2005 was cancelled for non-payment.  That Christinetravel had called and transferred the deposit amount to the second booking.  This booking was also cancelled due to non-payment.  I called Christinetravel and she said that Princess Cruise had made the cancellation in error and would find out what happened.  Then offered me a different cruise which would cost only a little more.  She had already talked me into paying an additional $400.00 over the ebay auction price to 'upgrade' from the auction cruise listing of an AC category to an AA category.  Princess Cruises does not categorize it's cruises this way.  These are simply cabin locations, not cabin type.

I submitted a complaint to ebay.  Bobbie from ebay sent me a email on December 29 that ebay had done a 'thorough' investigation.  No had contacted me for the emails between the travel agent and myself, for the cancelled cashier's check or copy of US Post Office  money order for which I paid for the trip.  Noone had contacted Princess Cruiseline, ebay refused to provied my attorney (another $200 so far) any information about the actual name, address or travel agent license number of this agent --saying that it is to protect ebayers. Did not contact other buyers, even though I had and supplied ebay ID's with their permission of others who had problems with this Seller. Bobbie concluded that there was no evidence of wrongdoing.  I will be happy to supply all emails, etc.  Contact me through my ebay store E's Treasures.   I don't know what Bobbie considers a thorough investigation but his or her conclusion, representing ebay, is that it is ok to collect money from an ebay buyer and not deliver the item/service or product.  It is ebay's policy to prevent legal action by refusing to provide Seller contact information to an attorney (third party).

In her ad, luxurytravel05, christinetravel.com, formerly christinetravel, states that she is licensed, yet her license is nowhere in her ad, nor is her real name or address.

The moral of the story, go to an established Travel Agent with a physical address who will provide you with their license number.  I am out nearly $4,000.  No honeymoon cruise, not help from ebay.  I am pursuing other legal action as ebay does not regulate it's Sellers.  My lawyer sent a letter to Christine travel (also does business as S & C Enterprises)on December 15, 2005.  On December 18, she closed the ChristineTravel ebay site and opened under Luxury Travel, Luxurytravel05.  To add insult to injury, ebay granted her Square Trade status (?coincidence?).  This is a further misleading indication of this Seller's integrity.
