It's Chrome - How Bad Could it Be?!?!
Well, it's true - everything looks better on chrome - even the ugly Legends subset looks good. What else can I say? The autographs look great and including Festus was cool. My big complaint is that we keep seeing the same roster of people for the autographs and relic cards. While I like pulling a John Cena Autograph or a Matt Hardy event used shirt, I'd like to see some other guys for a change. I have yet to see anything for Batista and I haven't seen a Triple H or Undertaker auto or relic come out of a WWE product since Fleer had the license.
The Allen & Ginter cards look stunning. Oddly, they are numbered as an insert set but they are included on the regular set checklist so I'm not real sure what they are... Refractors and Xfractors are seeded as usual and Superfractors which are serial numbered out of 25 are very difficult to pull from packs. Even common wrestler superfractors sell in the $35-$50 range with superstars commanding much more.
Cool Cards to Look For
This set marks the first cards of Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder, Festus and Jesse as well as a new picture on the CM Punk card. The Festus rookie cards sell well in the $3-$5 range while the others go well in the $1-$2 range. High marks go to Topps for keeping the roster up to date with some popular new wrestlers.
We can safely give this 5 stars without holding back anything. I still want to see a set that has all of the collecting traits of other sportcards but that will have to wait for now..
