This will be a huge hit!!

Well my 10-year old daughter asked me to follow through on my promise and pick up some Hannah Montana cards.  I was able to get a few boxes and I must say that I like this product quite a lot.  First off, for those of you hiding under a rock, Hannah Montana is HUGE!!  The show is a hit, the tour is a hit, even the 3D movie in theatres right now is a hit.  Needless to say, anything with Hannah Montana on it sells well.

Let's Examine the Product:

The box has 24 packs with 7 Sticker cards per pack.  You read that correctly - not cards - sticker cards, every item is a sticker!  I have to say that generally, girls do like stickers more and they are the target audience for this product.  Packs initially should be around $3 a pack like the High School Musical cards though I bet these dry up even FASTER than HSM did (it took about a week to sell oput from the manufacturer).

The Pros (the good stuff):

The cards are well produced and cover all of the characters in the show.  As they are all stickers, they are all fun to use on schoolbooks and such.  The Glitter stickers are still difficult to pull at 1 in 6 packs but the foil cards are relatively easy at 1 in 3 packs.  If you don't pull one of those special stickers, you pull a Mega sticker instead which are also well done.  The base sticker card set is 90 stickers and you should pull one complete set when buying a box.

The Cons (issues with the product):

The only subject covered in all 3 specialty sticker sets is Hannah Montana.  There are 10 stickers in each set and they are ALL Hannah Montana.  I'm not sure why they chose not to cover the other characters in the specialty sets.  While I understand the hype is about Hannah, the other characters really do add quite a bit to the show and to not have Glitter or Foil, Lilly/Lola, Jackson, Jake, Rico or Robbie Ray sticker cards seems odd somehow. 

Costume Cards a no-show

There is also no unbelievable chase card like HSM's costume cards.  While I'm not sure this is a Pro or Con I tend to side with listing this as a Con.  I think this product wouldn't stop selling if there were Hannah Montana costume cards in it, though I have to say that I embrace having no costume cards rather than the impossible to pull, dull white golf shirt costume cards of HSM.   Those cards, for those of you who don't know, are found about 1 per 8-box case and aren't much to look at when you actually pull one from a pack.

Conclusion

This is another winner for Topps Entertainment line.  I think the glitter and foil stickers will sell well (as the HSM versions did) and that the product will sell out quickly once people realize it's out there. Even with the lack of subjects in the specialty sticker cards, I rate this a 5-star product.  Your kids (especially girls) will love opening packs of these and putting all the stickers to good use - I know my daughter already has!!
