I went into my local card store today and found nothing in Baseball boxes that caught my eye.  Instead, I picked up a box of 2007 Topps Football Draft Picks & Prospects.  Here is my initial review upon breaking this box.

Box:  The box cost was extremely low as this shop had an overstock.  At $45 a box I figured this would be worth it.  The box comes with 24 packs, 5 cards per pack.  The guarantee is either 1 Auto and 1 Relic or 2 Relic cards per box.

Pack:  Each pack comes with one Chrome card and at least one rookie.  The guarantee is one rookie card per pack but I did get 2 in some of the packs.  There are parallels with the different color chrome and refractors for each color.

Highights of the Box:  Well I actually did really well on this box.  Listed below are the pulls and the value fround in Beckett OPG:

I'll be honest, I generally do not like sets that show rookies in their college uniforms as most of the initial hype dies when the regular sets show these rookies in their NFL duds.  However,  one look at last year's set and you can see that this brand retained it's value well.  Even the middle tier RCs (not Bush, Young, Leinart and Cutler) are still valued well.

I did not pull an autograph or any of the great pulls that can be had - but I did open a solid box that has some good value in it.  At the price I bought it for, I might even spring for a few more boxes..

Solid pre-season product that should see RC's move well as the rookies play more.  JaMarcus Russell cards are the exception as he signed extremely late and may not play much this year.  If he does and is as good as we think he is, his cards could move much like Vince Young's did last year.
