More and more I see people (mainly companies) So-called Reserving the Right to cancel all bids...Now what does that tell me? It tells me that they are putting it on ebay basically to see what they can get for it, and if they don't like it, then they can just decide to take it off for no reason without suffering any negative feedback. So, me and you can spend (or waste) a week bidding against each other for an item and then they can say "nevermind"!!! That's what a reserve price is supposed to be for. You set a price that you want and if you don't get it then you don't sell it...At least I know up front that there IS a RESERVE PRICE. Quit hiding behind 15 paragraphs of jibberish before you say that you reserve the right to throw my bids in the garbage (or "I reserve the right to end this auction early because it is for sale locally). If it is for sale locally and they can discontinue at any time, then SELL it locally and quit wasting my time...In other words, if at any time they don't like the way that the bidding is going then they can cancel all bids and remove it. I feel that if an item is posted with no "reserve price", then it should sell no matter what the final bid is. If not, then what's the point? A weeks' worth of bidding for nothing. I blame ebay for allowing this to continue. It used to be that if you were selling something without "RESERVE PRICE SET" then the highest bidder won the item. Now they don't even have to set a reserve and don't have to sell unless they want to. What happened ebay?? Don't let that ALL MIGHTY BUCK blind you as to what this marketplace was started for. The everyday person selling everyday items to each other. Don't let a nice thing be ruined by the minority few. Make people put "Reserve Price" at the top of the listing where it belongs........
