Replacing the Headlights on a 2002 to 2008 Trailblazer
If you want to replace your headlight bulbs, it's really a piece of cake: First remove the long chrome bar that runs from one headlight assembly to the other. It's held on by five clips; two on each headlight assembly and one in the middle under the "bow tie" emblem. Start at either headlight, and pry the end up with something that won't scratch anything (I like to use a plastic squeegee). They pop out quite easily. Then work your way across to the middle one and then the other headlight assembly. Next, two clips on the top of each assembly just in front of the cross bar is all that holds the headlight assembly in. One is very easy to spot; the other is about two inches or so under the fender. They are bent over metal about one inch long. Pop the clips up using a screw driver to get them started and them you should be able to lift them the rest of the way with your fingers. Wiggle (don't force) the assembly around until it pops loose and comes out. The head light bulbs are behind the two black soft cup/discs that you can easily find. Pry the caps off with your finger and the bulbs will be exposed. Hint: before you turn the bulb socket counter-clock wise to remove the bulb and socket assembly, note the location of the bulb socket before you start to turn it and when it pops out of its locks. That makes re-reinstalling them much easier. The bulbs that come on a Trailblazer are 9005 and 9006. Don't forget the dielectric grease, a "must use" for ease of insertion/removal and corrosion resistance.
