Hi! Q3 here representing Coast With Spencer Q. I wanted to publicize my goals for how I do business, because my main goal is repeat business. Without repeat business, I would have no business. And if your people like you, they advertise by word of mouth, so I would also be losing out on free advertising.
I haven't actually had any repeat business selling on the net, but I have only sold and shipped 5 items. In my feedback, one of my customers did state that they would definitely do business with me again. I get the feeling that my other customers would also, but 2 of them have not sent feedback yet. Anyway, here is my repeat business recipe. I hope it works!
I answer all questions as soon as I know I have one. If I don't have the appropriate answer right then, I will email and acknowledge their mail and let them know that I will get back to them with the info ASAP. That's usually within the first day of receiving a question. So I like to be knowledgeable about the stuff I sell.
I'm also honest about everything I sell and I don't sell junk. I hope not anyway. No complaints yet! If I am not able to find the info needed, I will honestly let them know, however I would continue to seek the answer, just in case.
I leave feedback to everyone who buys from me. So far, all of my customers have been prompt with their payment and feedback. I really appreciate that and very much appreciate their business. I also send each one a personalized thank you. I can't see using "canned" letters and comments unless I had an overwhelming amount of business. I think it adds a personal touch.
When I answer questions, I always put a friendly tone in my answers and write to the customer almost as if I know them. It's weird, because everyone I've dealt with has seemed that way.
I keep all receipts for shipping and copies of invoices. Tracking numbers and receipts are good. USPS has been known to make a mistake or two. . . . .Anway, one of my customers contacted me because they had not received their shipment yet and I had mailed it nearly two weeks prior! I always mail items the day of or after I receive payment, so I freaked out and got right on the case. They requested receipts and so on and I scanned them promptly over to the customer and they thanked me for being prompt and for sending them, clear information and receipts. I also let them know that if the package didn't show up, I would find it one way or another! It showed up. It went to someone in Canada and it got caught up in customs.
Friendliness, promptness, knowledge, low cost without sacrificing quality, are all things I believe in. It has worked when I worked making money for someone else, so it should work now! I try real hard anyway!
People want to be empowered. They don't want to told a 10 minute excuse about why the server can't seem to get them a drink of water or answer a question. If I got busy on the cooks line, and people are asking, "How long?" I would tell them they were the next order out after the one I was sending out. Even if they were 10 tickets out, they got to hear what they wanted to hear, "Yes you are next up." Believe it or not, even if it was another 5-10 minutes before their order was up, you'd never hear from them again. It's like they just wanted a sounding board for a moment to make themselves feel better, and in my mind, it's their problem that they are grouchy and not mine. So you take some kicks and punches and rude comments, but in the customer service industry, you have to. By continuing with good service even after someone shot your day down, means that you have won because you maintained and the customer could complain about no one but themselves. I'm just always glad that I don't have to socialize with these people, besides the workplace.
I think everyone has the point. Know your stuff and don't procrastinate. And leave feedback! It just takes a second and positive feedback makes someone like me want to try that much harder to bring those people back!
Until next time, thank you for taking the time to read my review. I enjoy writing them. Take care of each other folks!
