This is going to sound somewhat weird, but it does work. More importantly it does nothing to damage clothing, or antique glass items. To remove set in stains on material, as well as buildup on antique glass items, soak them in water with denture tablets. Yes, you heard me correctly-lol. At Walmart, or wherever, buy the cheapest fizzing denture tablets you can find. This will usually cost you no more than 3.00. I do not buy the scented/flavored type such as mint. Depending on the stain, or the thickness of the buildup, you may have to do several applications, but this really does work. I forgot to mention that I used this procedure on an antique glass baby bottle with a thick buildup of probably milk protein which was 60+ years old. You couldnt even see through the glass. I tried every cleaning product I could think of, but nothing worked until I used the denture tablets. Now its crystal clear, and I can even see the air bubbles that very old antique glass always has. I also removed blood from a light colored chambray item that had been washed & dried. On that item, I put the tablet on the spot, and twisted the material closed around it. :-)
