In this guide I will outline the best practices of removing negative feedback.

MY EXPERIENCE:

I am writing this guide from my personal experience in a purchasing capacity. I won an auction from a good standing ebayer ( OVER 200K' feedback remarks, some negatives sprinkled here and there). After immediate payment I was not sent a single email in regards to confirmation of payment, or a confirmation of shipment. As it got close to a week of waiting, I sent the first of many unanswered emails. I then opened up a paypal dispute, after reading that the party had received the message, I waited three days and proceed to escalate the matter to a claim. The next day the seller provided through payal a tracking number. When I viewed the progress through ups' website I noticed that the shipment zip code was incorrect. After spending a good hour with ups, I got half of the facts straightened out. However I had to wait until the package was scanned while in route, to get it rerouted. This was another hassle. Finally after 1 month my package arrives, I'm finally happy..:::)) Not the case, the item was a dud, no action when plugged in (ok I'll tell you know, it was a wireless iron... Anyhow, this now is a huge mess. I used the request seller information to retrieve contact number and other email address'. I contacted the company to get return instruction's, sent numerous emails, and left messages on their answering machine. AND NOTHING.. ( KEEP IN MIND THAT MOST OF THESE HIGH QUANTITY SELLERS WILL NOT ACCEPT A RETURN UNLESS YOU HAVE AN RMA NUMBER, or return authorization number) Right away I contacted paypal to change the claim to a "not as described claim".The company has 20 days from the original claim date to rectify the problem you are having. Well luckily I did everything correctly and on time with paypal (you should get familiar with their policy. There are many obstacles you should go through correctly in order to get a refund. I will write a guide soon on it) and finally paypal issued me a refund. End of story I still have this junk wireless iron, and got a refund. I'm an honest person, and this really did not make me feel like I stuck it to them. I just got what I was due, I would have gladly returned the item if a return address and RMA were provided, as this was the seller;s policy.THE SELLER LEFT ME RETALIATORY NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. AND I GOT IT REMOVED, BECAUSE I HAD THE FORESIGHT THAT THIS COULD BE A POSSIBILITY.  I TOOK NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO DOCUMENT ALL IF ANY CORRESPOND-ES. BELOW I WILL OUTLINE HOW I GOT IT REMOVED!!!

In my case I got the negative out of the blue. Most people get negatives from sellers after they issue the seller negative feedback because of an unsatisfactory experience~and thus get hit back with a retaliatory negative. This then becomes a bargaining chip for the seller to request a mutual withdraw (sucks). If you plan to issue a seller negative feedback and think you may get a retaliatory negative back~Read through this guide and educate yourself on how to prepare evidence that supports what you did is just and the seller is abusing the feedback system. And if all the steps are followed trust and safety will remove the retaliatory negative.

REMOVE THE RETALIATORY NEGATIVE FEEDBACK

It is imperative that you document all correspondences between yourself and the buyer/seller. External email correspondences are okay, but make sure you keep a copy in your sent folder. The better method is ebay messaging, as ebay will have these messages in their system (keep in mind they will only be saved for thirty days unless you copy them to a saved folder, or when using ebay messaging check off "sent this message to my email address"

1.    Should you get the feel that things are not going smoothly (your package is delinquent or does not arrive within a 10 day period~or worse it arrives broken). Start writing emails and making phone calls. These will be very useful when you finally speak to trust and safety about removing negative feedback, as the choice is ultimately theirs. .

2.    Get the sellers contact information through the link below, you will need the item number and sellers user id. This request will be recorded by ebay.

3.    File a dispute with ebay through the link below. This will be documented

4.     File a paypal dispute. This will be documented

5.     Escalate the dispute to a claim. This will be documented

WHEN FILING ANYTHING WITH PAYPAL, BE SURE TO INCLUDE EVERY DETAIL~WHEN YOU BOUGHT THE ITEM: WHEN AND IF YOU RECEIVED IT, WHAT CONDITION IT WAS IN, IF YOU SENT ANY EMAILS~HOW MANY AND WHEN~!WHAT WAS THE RESPONSE~ IF YOU CALLED THE SELLER~WHEN AND ON HOW MANY OCCASIONS~ANY PROMISES THE SELLER MAY HAVE MADE YOU~BEST TO HAVE THIS STORED ELECTRONICALLY AS WELL.

6.     Report the negative remark as feedback abuse through the link below. Input as much accurate data as you can. Let them know you feel violated, that you did everything in your power to fulfill your end which was simple (making a payment). Outline all the areas where the seller failed you, speak out that this is unfair and unjust, and a blemish on your religiously maintained score, and worse it is against everything ebay. Become a poet, with tears.. lol--

7.    Wait to hear from trust and safety, should not take longer than five business days. Hopefully you will get a notice that the feedback was permanently removed. This is the best way to go, it does not withdraw the remark, they completely remove it from your feedback page.

8.    If you are unsuccessful in getting help from trust and safety, you can still retract the negative feedback. There are some loopholes, for instance if the buyer has incorrect contact information, you can file a withdraw request based solely on the sellers incorrect contact info. The email will be a bit difficult to verify, since they can claim that just because no one replied does not mean it is incorrect. Your best bet is if you luck out and they have an incorrect contact number. File a dispute for withdrawl (link under step 6)

9.    And then theres mutual withdraw (link below). This is the last stop. If you left the seller negative feedback, now you have a bargaining chip. No one really wants negative feedback. Attempt to come to some type of agreement which is in your best interest. And file for the mutual withdraw. Only set back is, the negative count and the red will be gone, but the remarks will stay forever.
